I would love to use this lesson plan in the future, no matter what grade. I think my lesson plan can be modified easily to match any grade. In grades 1-2, students are able to practice their addition and subtraction. In grades 3 and up, students are able to work on multiplication and division. It is a great practice tool for students to strengthen their fundamental math skills while playing a fun game racing animals through space. I also added elements of fun into my Scratch game like different animals and putting Space as my background to make it more engaging with students. I think it's important to have that element of excitement in something like multiplication and division because most students might not find these concepts fun or exciting.

ReplyDeleteHi Maddie,
ReplyDeleteYour lesson plan sounds absolutely fantastic, and I admire your adaptability to cater to various grade levels. It's evident that you've put a lot of thought into making math engaging for students, from the early years of addition and subtraction to the more advanced concepts of multiplication and division.
I couldn't agree more about the importance of infusing fun and excitement into math education. Your Scratch game with animals racing through space and the space-themed background is such a creative way to make learning an adventure.
I'm sure your future students will be lucky to have you as their teacher, and your lesson plan will undoubtedly leave a lasting, positive impact.
Thanks,
Alyna
